We’re officially in the 2nd week of July. The World Cup is nearing the final hour. Cyclists are preparing themselves for Tour de France. Headlines to Keep an Eye On:


  • The 2026 MLB All-Star Game and T-Mobile Home Run Derby will both take place at Citizens Bank Park in the City of Brotherly Love. 


  • On July 4th, the Tour de France began on July 4th in Barcelona. Torstein Træen is currently wearing the yellow jersey—the leader of the races—after 5 stages so far. 



  • The 2026 FIFA World Cup has reached the quarterfinals after an exciting knockout stage. Surprise teams like Morocco and Norway joining favorites France, Spain, England, and Argentina still in contention.

  • The United States have been eliminated from the World Cup by Belgium, marking them the final host nation to be eliminated.  


  • The NBA Summer League has begun with showing young players trying to earn roster spots and teams evaluating draft picks.



  • Lionel Messi and Argentina advanced after a dramatic 3–2 win over Egypt that originally had Egypt leading 2-0.


Fun Fact: Back in 2002 at the MLB All-Star Game, it finished with a 7-7 tie after 11 innings when both the American League and National League used all of their available pitchers. This was the second All-Star tie in history; the first was stopped by rain in 1961.
