Renee Washington’s soccer journey is a story of talent, perseverance, and historic accomplishments. A three-time All-American and Hall of Famer at La Salle University, Renee established herself as one of the top collegiate athletes of her generation while leaving a lasting legacy in women’s soccer.

Collegiate Career Highlights – La Salle University

Renee’s collegiate career at La Salle University was marked by record-breaking performances and team success. As a four-year standout, she helped lead the program to several firsts:

• Three NCAA Tournament appearances

• Atlantic 10 Regular Season Champions (3x)

• Atlantic 10 Tournament Champions (2x)

• Named Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP twice

• Ranked second all-time in program goals (40) and points (101)
   

In recognition of her impact on the field, Renee was named a three-time All-American and earned the distinction of Top 50 NCAA Woman of the Year (2014). Her leadership, work ethic, and skill were critical to elevating La Salle’s soccer program to national prominence.

Professional Career – Sky Blue FC / Gotham FC

Following her collegiate success, Renee had the opportunity to play professionally with Sky Blue FC (now Gotham FC). Competing at the highest level of women’s professional soccer, she continued to showcase her athleticism, discipline, and passion for the game.

Coaching & Leadership – Lehigh University

After her playing career, Renee transitioned to coaching, serving as an assistant coach at Lehigh University. During this time, she earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership while mentoring young athletes, further demonstrating her commitment to growth, leadership, and the development of the next generation of soccer talent.

Legacy & Hall of Fame Honors

Renee’s remarkable achievements on and off the field have earned her a place in the La Salle University Soccer Hall of Fame, Pennington School Hall of Fame, and Mercer County, NJ Soccer Hall of Fame. Her journey reflects not only athletic excellence but also leadership, resilience, and a dedication to inspiring others through sport.
