There is No Single Path to Achieving Your Dreams — and Sofia “Fia” Lewis is Proof. ⚽️

She didn’t start playing soccer until she was 13. She competed on a boys’ travel team, became the all-time leading scorer at Division II Minot State, and later balanced graduate school, coaching and a full-time job in the oil industry while continuing to train for an opportunity to play professionally.

And eventually, that opportunity came.

For the latest edition of The Women’s Game, I had the chance to share the story behind Brooklyn FC forward Sofia Lewis and the belief, work ethic and support system that helped her carve an unconventional path to the professional game.
