POEM: Nobody Said It Would Be Easy

Nobody said it would be easy. 

Nobody said it would be fun. 

But many say it’s worth it— 

so why would I run?

So why go left just because things don’t go right?

I am the first— 

sink in that truth 

and be ready for the fight.

The path is not always smooth 

on the journey to find me.

But with every step I take, 

I learn just how rewarding 

this becoming can be.
