  • Volunteers with the CCFA to increase marketing efforts on events, health information, and patients stories

Book Drive Organizer

February 2011-February 2013

  • Created a book drive working with a Better World Books, a nonprofit company that has raised more than $10 million for library and literacy partners, diverted over 40 million books from landfills, achieved 17,000 tons of carbon offsets through carbon neutral shipping, and donated more than 3.3 million books directly to nonprofit organizations around the world

  • Collected almost 1,500 books which were used for three donations with BWB

  • Better World Books sold books at a discounted price and donated the profits from selling the books to Room to Read

  • Room to Read is a nonprofit organization that has impacted the lives of over 1.7 million children since it began in 2000. It has also grown from one school library in Nepal to over 10,000 throughout Asia and Africa. Additionally, it established almost 2,000 libraries, built about 300 schools, published 120 original children’s books, and offered over 10,000 girls learning opportunities. 

  • Any books that were unable to be sold online were donated to a third world country in which literacy rates were low

  • Finally books in terrible, illegible condition were recycled, but all books were somehow be reused to help improve our environment or the education of children

Tutor

January 2012- May 2012

  • Worked with a neighborhood tutoring program at La Salle University

  • Tutored kids age K-8

  • Helped with homework and studying

  • Also mentored kids and helped with discussing education and life issues

  • Worked 1 on 1 and sometimes in small groups

Manager for Score for the Cure

January 2010-June 2010

  • Helped raise about $7000 with the 2nd Annual Score for the Cure event

  • A 3v3 soccer tournament for girls ages 11-14

  • Acute Myeloid Leukemia in honor of at the time 15 year old Jamie Botteon

  • Also supported the fight against Pancreatic Cancer in honor of Charlotte Moran
